CARNACIÓN
During the spring of 2022, La Aceitera hosted the residencies for Carnación, a performance by Rocío Molina with Niño de Elche that premiered at the Biennale di Venezia.
Carnación is the result of a search into desire. It came from the intuition that the origin and meaning of desire is related to a state only accessible through the body.
The word carnación, which refers to the pictorial process of flesh coloration, leads us to think about the passage from the imaginary to the visible, from what is hidden to what is shown.
Drive, care, repression, tenderness, violence; a carnal relationship from which images emerge capable of restoring a past that we are unable to understand.
Carnación was conceived from this care, from these days accompanying each other to unthinkable places. Without these hours and this willing walk, Carnación would not have been possible.
